Wow week 29!!!

Well the weeks just keep flying by!!! Im soooo excited and sad. I have lots to look forward too though. Most importantly Ellie meeting her mommy and daddy!  Then two weeks later being the maid of honor in my brothers wedding. A trip to visit Rickys grandma AND my BEACH vacation!!!! I cant wait to see the kids faces! Also hoping to sell our house and get a upgrade!  Miss Ellie in my belly is getting so strong. she likes my ribs and bladder now! Im starting to get more winded doing little things. Still eating all my ice! Here is what shes up too this week!                   Your Baby

Your baby is almost 17 inches tall now (nearly as tall as he or she will be at birth), and close to three pounds (a weight that will likely more than double — and may even come close to tripling — by delivery time). His or her wrinkled skin is smoothing out as more fat is deposited under the skin surface. This fat, called white fat, is different from the earlier brown fat that your developing fetus accumulated. Brown fat is necessary for body temperature regulation while white fat (the fat you have, Mom) actually serves as an energy source.

Which explains why your energizer baby feels so…well…energized! Space in your baby’s living quarters is now at a premium, so you’ll be feeling jabs and pokes from elbows and knees mostly. But those kicks will be more vigorous than before (and also less erratic) because your baby is stronger and excitedly responding to all sorts of stimuli — movement, sounds, light, and that candy bar you ate half an hour ago.

Luckily, your baby doesn’t have teeth yet that would need a brushing after that sugary treat, but it won’t be long before you’ll need to buy that first baby toothbrush! You’ll recall that your baby’s baby-teeth buds formed weeks ago, but now the buds for permanent teeth are forming in his or her gums as well.

And back to those kicks, who’s counting? Actually, you should be. Now’s a good time to start doing a kick count twice a day to make sure baby’s doing just fine (plus, it’s a good excuse for a rest). Lie down (preferably after a snack) and keep track of your baby’s movements. You’re looking for at least ten movements in an hour’s time (don’t forget to count movements of any kind — kicks, flutters, swishes, rolls, and so on)     my first bare belly pic!!!

A little in between news!!!

Well my dr office called and turns out im anemic. .. guess thats why I LOVE ice lol. Thats also why I have been sooo tired and just feeling crappy lol. I will now take iron pills twice a day! My suger test came back good but a little on the high side so they said I just habe to not eat tons of suger lol. And they will also be doing a follow up ultrasound to check my placenta one more time before birth! Lets all pray it just moves on up and out of the way lol!!!

Week 28!

Im very late posting week 28 sorry guys! We had a great visit with Molly and Jon! Ellie was sooo cute on the ultra sound we could even see her little lungs moving shes getting ready for the big world! She even smiled for a picture!   We all went to dinner and it was sooo yummy! They made me fast before my suger test so I hadn’t ate all day!!!! Molly got to feel Ellie kick around a little but Im sad she wasnt moving more… we also got a little not so great news my placenta is close to my cervix its called placenta Pervea. Dr Sammons said they like it to be about 2cm away and mine is about 1.76cm away. She said she dosnt think it should be a issue at all and that it still has time to move but she sent it to a high risk Dr to look at and see what they said. The good news is the high risk Dr also thinks I should be just fine but if I start bleeding alot I will have to have a emergency c section!!!! This is the medical info on it from the internet.

Placenta previa

Placenta previa is a problem of pregnancy in which the placenta grows in the lowest part of the womb (uterus) and covers all or part of the opening to the cervix.

The placenta grows during pregnancy and feeds the developing baby. The cervix is the opening to the birth canal.

Causes

During pregnancy, the placenta moves as the womb stretches and grows. It is very common for the placenta to be low in the womb in early pregnancy. But as the pregnancy continues, the placenta moves to the top of the womb. By the third trimester, the placenta should be near the top of the womb, so the cervix is open for delivery.

Sometimes, the placenta partly or completely covers the cervix. This is called a previa.

There are different forms of placenta previa:

Marginal: The placenta is next to cervix but does not cover the opening.Partial: The placenta covers part of the cervical opening.Complete: The placenta covers all of the cervical opening.

Placenta previa occurs in 1 out of 200 pregnancies. It is more common in women who have:

Abnormally shaped uterus Many previous pregnanciesMultiple pregnancy (twins, triplets, etc.)Scarring on the lining of the uterus, due to history of surgery, c-section, previous pregnancy, or abortion

Women who smoke or have their children at an older age may also have an increased risk.

Symptoms

The main symptom of placenta previa is sudden bleeding from the vagina. Some women have cramps, too. The bleeding often starts near the end of the second trimester or beginning of the third trimester.

Bleeding may be severe. It may stop on its own but can start again days or weeks later.

Labor sometimes starts within several days of heavy bleeding. Sometimes, bleeding may not occur until after labor starts.

Exams and Tests

Your health care provider can diagnose this condition with a pregnancy ultrasound.

Treatment

Your health care provider will carefully consider the risk of bleeding against early delivery of your baby. After 36 weeks, delivery of the baby may be the best treatment.

Nearly all women with placenta previa need a c-section. If the placenta covers all or part of the cervix, a vaginal delivery can cause severe bleeding. This can be deadly to both the mother and the baby.

If the placenta is near or covering a part of the cervix, your doctor may recommend:

Reducing your activitiesBed restPelvic rest, which means no sex, no tampons, and no douching

Nothing should be placed in the vagina.

You may need to stay in the hospital so your health care team can closely monitor you and your baby.

Other treatments you may receive:

Blood transfusionsMedicines to prevent early laborMedicines to help pregnancy continue to at least 36 weeksShot of special medicine called Rhogam if your blood type is Rh-negativeSteroid shots to help the baby’s lungs mature

An emergency c-section may be done if the bleeding is heavy and cannot be controlled.

Outlook (Prognosis)

The biggest risk is severe bleeding that can be life threatening to the mother and baby. If you have severe bleeding, you baby may need to be delivered early, before major organs, such as the lungs, have developed.
I have to be honest this terrifies me! Its just the un known im good at vaginal delivery very good! I know what to expect there and what recovery is like. I know nothing about c sections. I know in the big picture no matter what all that matters is Ellie getting to her mom and dad safe and sound! But im still REALLY hoping and praying it all goes nice and smooth like my first two did. For the super exciting news they set up our induction date!!!! June 6!! Its two days before my birthday!  We will be at 39 weeks at that point so I really dont have much longer to go!!! Next time we see Jon and Molly they will be turning into a family of three!!!! Look what baby Ellie can do now!!! Are you dreaming about your baby? This week, your baby may be dreaming about you, too. Brain wave activity measured in a developing fetus shows different sleep cycles, including the rapid eye movement phase, the stage when dreaming occurs.

By now, your baby, who weighs in at about two and a half pounds and stands — or rather lies — at almost 16 inches (measured head to toe) has added blinking to his or her growing bag of tricks. (Outside in the real world, blinking is necessary to help keep foreign objects out of the eyes.) Other impressive new talents being added to your baby’s roster in the womb include coughing, more intense sucking, and, perhaps most important, better breathing.

The good news is that babies born this week, though premature, have an excellent prognosis because their lungs have reached the point (for the most part) of maturity — so you too can breathe a little easier now. Of course, it’s still best if a baby doesn’t check out of that uterine hotel just yet — there’s still a lot of growing and maturing to do over the next 12 weeks.

Week 27!!!!

Well things are still amazing baby Ellie is very excited for her mommy and daddy to be here in two days!  I like to tell her there coming and she likes to kick! I cant wait for them to feel her in there! I hope she moves alot when there here so they can suck it all up!!! Its my favorite part of pregnancy and I wish Molly got to experience it the same way I get too! Im still eating lots of ice. Im trying to sleep its not working very well lol. Our ultrasound is on Thursday and my blood suger test! Here is what Ellie is up too! Most babies this age, yours included, still like to snuggle in a slightly curled position inside the uterus (thus the term “fetal position”). Even so, beginning at this stage, your baby’s length will be measured from top of head to toe — which makes your baby nearly a full 15 inches now. And at just over two pounds, he or she has doubled in weight from four weeks ago.

Your baby’s auditory development (hearing) is progressing as the network of nerves to the ears matures. And even though the sounds your baby hears are muffled (thanks to the creamy coating of vernix covering those ears), he or she may recognize both yours and your partner’s voices. So this might be a good time to read and even sing to your baby (or rather, your belly) — and a good chance to start boning up on those nursery rhymes and lullabies you’ll need to be repeating (and repeating) pretty soon. And while you’re at it, here’s another way to have some family fun: If your partner presses his ear to your belly, he might be able to hear the baby’s heartbeat.

Your baby’s taste buds are very developed now too (with more taste buds than he or she will ever have outside the womb, actually). Need a taste test? If you eat some spicy food (you hot mama, you), your baby will be able to taste the difference in the amniotic fluid (but keep in mind that you’ll have different mealtimes, with your baby’s coming about two hours after yours). Some babies will even respond to that spicy kick by hiccupping. And although hiccups (which feel like belly spasms to you) may seem like they’re disturbing to your baby, he or she isn’t stressed at all. It’s just one more sensation that babies need to get used to.

We are in week 26!!!

Im loving getting bigger and all the kicks! Ellie got the hiccups the other night for two hours!!! Poor girl I felt so bad for her. We stayed up until midnight that night! It felt like she was jumping in there Kailynn felt her kick yesterday and thought it was the neatest thing ever! She told everyone Ellie kicked me. She told me I love baby Ellie mommy. She can be so sweet some times! Im now big enough that I have to use ricky as leverage to help me sit up in bed lol. (He loves that NOT) In ten days mommy and daddy will be here and we all get to see Ellie again and they will get to feel her kick around in there! Im soooo beyond excited for that! I wish they lived closer so they could see and feel her all the time! Were hoping we can also tour the dr office when they come up! Dr Sammons said we should just call them that day and explain our special situation and hopefully someone can show us around! Ill also be doing my blood suger test that day! Most people complain about the drink but I really dont think its that bad. Well this is what Ellie will be doing this week!

Happy 25 weeks!!!

I feel kinda repetitive saying the same things each week but things are still going well nice and easy just how it should be! Just the normal pregnancy things stretching ligaments and not sleeping! Every week sweet Ellie gets stronger and stronger now when she kicks it scares me and I jump lol. It won’t be long and she will be in her mommy and daddy’s arms. Im feeling bitter sweet about this now im SOOO beyond happy for them but sad I won’t be pregnant anymore I just love it so much! She has been such a AMAZING little girl shes already so feisty and energetic!  I know ill miss this! We planed our family vacation for September were going to destin Florida! Im so excited to lay on the beach with my kids and enjoy the sand and ocean! Most people have babies and are stuck at home lol not me! Ill be living it up! This is what Ellie is up to this week!  At nine inches and more than a pound and a half in weight, your baby is taller than two juice boxes stacked one on top of the other, and almost as heavy as four of those little boxes (an analogy you’ll find particularly apropos in a few years, when those juice boxes start taking over your refrigerator, your pantry, your car.…).

Don’t look now (as if you could), but your baby’s skin is turning pinker. No, not because he or she’s getting overheated (in fact, the amniotic fluid is perfectly climate controlled, keeping your baby at an always comfortable temperature), but because small blood vessels, called capillaries, are forming under the skin and filling with blood. Later this week, blood vessels will also develop in your baby’s lungs, bringing them one step closer to full maturity — and one step closer to taking that first breath of fresh air. But those lungs are still very much works in progress. Though they are already beginning to develop surfactant, a substance that will help the lungs expand after the baby is born, the lungs are still too undeveloped to sufficiently send oxygen to the bloodstream and release carbon dioxide when he or she exhales.

The lungs aren’t the only system that’s gearing up for air intake. Your baby’s nostrils, which have been plugged up until now, are starting to open this week. This actually allows your little one to begin taking practice breaths. (Of course since there’s no air in there, your baby is really only “breathing” amniotic fluid, but it’s the practice that counts, right?)

Im getting round!!!
